Summer Programs

I have been on the hunt for some great summer programs!  Are your kids like mine?  Easily bored and like to have constant variety? While reading anything and everything I can find the last couple weeks in hopes of stumbling on to local things for our family and your to do, I found  this in a school news letter and wanted to share.  This information was in the elementary school news letter...

Children of all ages are invited to eat lunch for free this summer as part of the public schools’ Child Nutrition program. All meals are free of charge to children younger than age 18. Cost of the program is provided by the federal government. No eligibility forms or paperwork is required, just a healthy appetite. This year community organizations such as the Monroe Public Library and the Boys and Girls Club are sponsoring activities in the Frank Wagner Elementary School’s gymnasium, 115 Dickinson Street, from 11 a.m. to noon. Lunch will be served from noon to 12:45 p.m. Monday through Friday from June 25 through August 17. “Just because school is out for summer does not mean there aren’t children still needing a healthy lunch. Children are hungry all year long,” said Dana Daniel, Monroe’s director of Child Nutrition and Dining Services
